Xeomin and Botox are purified botulinum toxins and are prescription drugs that, when injected, temporarily paralyzes muscles. This desired effect is used to treat dynamic wrinkles (wrinkles that occur with facial movement), and therefore prevent the formation of static wrinkles which are a result of the loss of elasticity of skin over time. Common examples of dynamic wrinkles include forehead lines, glabella lines (aka “11” lines), crows feet, and smokers lines around lips. Xeomin/Botox can also be used to create subtle brow and neck lifts, and is also used to treat TMJ disorder.
